The Study of Literature and the Anthropology

At the moment the Anthropology tries to understand the social reality from the literateraria perspective, interpreting the speeches of the other, understood in documents written, like novels, poems, narrations or stories, that symbolize a dialogue of the subjects, projecting their form to see the imaginary world and its social one.

Some expositions on the debate of Literature and the Anthropology, are mentioned by Terry Eagleton, that reflects on Literature, and sees the possibility that it exists like discipline and institution, whenever refers a new perspective and differ from the expositions of histories of the art or same Literature. I finish Literature, is for Eagleton, a functional aspect, it defines and it as the paper that carries out a text, in a social context, to which it is related to his surroundings and to which difference of him, to its behavior, the aims that can be destined to them and to the human activities surround that it. Other authors, like Amoretti, indicate to Literature as one practices social, it sees and it like the result of a cultural, social and economic product. Of this form Literature, is a material process of a social life and it constitutes like ideology and institution.

The studies of Literature that were concentrated mainly in the author who in the text, is generated at the end of century XIX and beginnings of century XX. As of 1910, in Russia that breaks with the study of traditional Literature, defining it based on the language, looking for to understand because the literalness does of a document a literary text to this movement I denominate myself to him, the Russian formalism. In 1916 it was Sausurre, that specifically defines the position of meaning-significant, which he is own of the language, also the Barthes contributes that significant the explicit thing in the form of the literary text, is possible to include/understand it the aspect of the knowledge, the representation and the symbolic thing. Another author, like Guber, in the aspect of etnometodologia, sees aspect of the relation between the understanding and the expression of the understanding, presents in the literary theory.

Darnton defines that the vision of the world that is strange and wonderful, appears in the literary boarding, that it tries to study the experiences, the illusions, desires that hide in the thoughts of the subjects and the experiences and truths captured in the social relations. Hidden presents and in addition in the literary stories the necessity to include/understand the culture to traverse in the Literature of the popular culture, and its symbolic character, needs the construction of a cultural history that does not have to reduce the symbols to its common minimum. That it means to exclude factors not before taken in account in the literary studies. Nevertheless the task of the historian or investigator must discover the social dimension of the thought, to understand the sense of documents, relating them to the surrounding world of the meaning. Besides warning that the cultures model the way to think, even in the case of the great thinkers, being in Literature political, economic, social and cultural the aspects of a determined historical time.

Of this form the literary field, resides in an ample aspect for the object of study for the Anthropology, that sends to first a Literature like a field of being able and institution, secondly is the subject, represented in the language like part of a factor that composes the historical-partner-cultural frame, and that in the end sees the literary work like an intellectual product, not of the author like a creator, but like part of a context, where the subject, recreates experiences, experiences, testimonies or interpretations.

Walter Benjamín, describes in the narrator Nicolai Leskov, the narrations, that are developed in the circle of the craftsmen, the urban farmers, sailors and merchants, in addition is an artisan form of the communication. That it represents a formal aspect of the popular life, the narration is something immanent to the process of experiences of the subject, since it concentrates the testimonial life of the stories, feats or adventures lived by the individuals. Nevertheless the Nicolai Leskov in its writings, portrayed a prophecy about which serious century XX, where the man would lose the sense of his experiences, sent it to this because every time it is but rare to find people that knows to count something well, it is as if a capacity, that seemed to us inextinguishable, but the safe one between the safe ones, suddenly was removed to us.

Benjamín sees that the effects of the changes of articles of incorporation, arisen in Europe in the middle of century XIX, have affected the historical passage of Literature, and begins with the study of the narrations. The narrator for Benjamín is like an artist, who has the capacity to interchange experiences, that show not only to the image of the outer world to us, if not it image of the moral world, that undergoes changes with time, changes that never were possible. The experience that runs of mouth in mouth is the direct source of the narrators, who this very related to the oralidad, studied by the Anthropology. The narrations are related to the stories of aspects of the popular life, in the work and leisure, like the stories of travellers, the sailors, the merchants. Leskov in its route by all Russia, obtained the understanding of its country, as of the concrete Russian circumstances, like the existing sects in Russia, the traditional legend system.

The narrator not only I characterize myself by its work production but by the system of wisdom that the narrative subject maintained. This authentic relation with the world, on the part of the narrations, view as a practical moral or recommendations is for Benjamín, a form in which the man gives advice to hears whom it and to obtain the advice it is necessary to count his situation and to listen to the experiences to count advice. He is for that reason that the advice is the lived information, turned into popular wisdom. Nevertheless this wisdom tends more and more to disappear product of the individualisation caused by the systems of economy and world-wide policy and to the destruction of the retained social organization in the cultural systems and the life of field. On the other hand Benjamín analyzes the paper of the novel, at the beginning of the modern age, and the novel is related to the oral message, that in its form expresses the exhibition of the human life, in addition to let know us what is the deep disorientation of the human beings.

The Integra novel everything an alive process of a society in the development of a person. Nevertheless beginnings of the Old Age, the novel has needed hundreds of years before finding in the bourgeoisie in ascent the elements took that it to develop, as the press, the development of the written press and the information. The history of the novel begins with the separation of the story, that begins a slow backward movement towards the archaism. The novel I look for to find a space that affects the life, and therefore in essential and the weather, in addition it can say that the novel is not but a fight against the power of the time, since it appears the novel like a creative memory, adapted to his object and it transforms that it into memory. The difference that Benjamín sees, is that the novel arrives at its aim, an aim in a strict sense, that it differs from the narration, since in the narration the doubt still exists even and, as it follows? More nevertheless in the novel, it is possible to be continued taking a single passage beyond his limits.

These characteristics of the nature of the formal aspects of Literature, appear in the anthropological interest, since before which any analysis is due to include/understand the historiography of Literature as aspects of their form and content to include/understand the contexts. The narratives aside from being an aspect of the testimonial life, approach to us to include/understand what feels, think and understand the subject, besides including/understanding like is that the subjects see the conflicts, processes, changes or experiences that it has to do with social surroundings.

Literature presents/displays at certain times the social content to us, of a time and to interpret the social imaginary thought and in an author. Knowing popular works of the towns, allow in the investigation of field, understanding aspects of the culture, that are part of the cotidianidad of the popular society and in addition they complement elements in the elaboration of surveys that allow to have a previous information in order study that looks for to study, that enriching a direct form the development of the anthropological investigation.

The literary categories that take symbolic messages, as far as forms and contents, like which they express tragic or reactionary works of Literature, really present/display a constellation of concepts that express protests against you order taxes to the subjects heteronomamente. Nevertheless the novel but that an individual aspect, that once I indicate Benjamín, represents the increasing impotence of the subject, where the subject turns its interioridad into ideology, in the mirage of an inner kingdom whose inhabitants make up for than she refuses to them socially. The impossibility of freedom due to the lack of social freedom brought about by the imposed system, generates a process, where are colapsadas the social structures of the thought. It is for that reason that the tradition depends its economic and social structures, its change, radically involves a change qualitatively in the tradition.

And it is evident that this process where the new cobra identity becomes present in the literary aspects, where the subject like author, criticism also, where the new thing, maintains I tie with the individual and society. The new thing in the Literature that urges new forces of old, that means a new explanation with respect to the world and as abstract experiences as the world that I construct the modernity of the past, involve and increases a meaning accumulation, of the society. The history constructed through the fantasy and the mixture of real events, in Literature reflects messages, that the anthropology has not arrived to define very textually, because the world of gestures, vocabulary, expressions, gestures that inhabit in novels, dramas or stories, not only define what is the human, if not that expresses their aesthetic desire from describing the world.
